Dear my brilliant Year 6,

I hope that you are all ok and that you are all taking care of your families and yourselves.

Today can you please complete:

  • The fifth writing task from your pack - 'Uprooted'. Write a paragraph in your lined exercise book to carry on the story. Try to create mood in your writing and use the skills detailed in the slow write (see document below). 
  • Read the next chapters of Wonder (A Tour to the Galaxy - Breakfast, p.82-102) Complete the reading comprehension questions to go with these (see document below). 
  • Complete an arithmetic or maths reasoning paper from your pack.
  • Complete one of the reading booklets from your pack, if you have not already done so (there are four comprehensions in your pack, one to be completed each week)
  • Complete 2 new MyMaths activities that I have set for you today and any outstanding work.
  • Complete 2 new SPAG.com activities that I have set for you today and any outstanding work.

I hope you all have a great day and a lovely weekend.

Remember to take part in PE with Joe Wicks every morning and remember that you can listen to a David Walliams book each day through his website.

Be safe, go careful and take care of yourselves.

Good morning my lovely Year 6,

I hope that you are all well and that you had a good day yesterday.

Today can you please complete:

  • The fourth writing task from your pack - 'After Work'. In your lined exercise book, write a conversation between Batman and another character of your choice. Remember to use the mind map to convey character (see attachment below).
  • Read the next chapters of Wonder (Lunch - Names p49-80) - Please complete the comprehension questions in your pack to go with these.
  • Complete the next section of your maths revision guide, spend around 40 minutes and complete in your plain exercise book. 
  • Complete the two new MyMaths activities and any outstanding work that you have not yet finished.
  • Complete the two new SPAG.com activities and any outstanding work that you have not yet finished.

 Dear my wonderful Year 6,

Happy Wednesday! I hope that you are all well and that you all have a good day today!

As I said yesterday, please try to help out at home, be kind and listen carefully.

Today can you please complete:

  • The third writing task from your pack - 'Poem about Spring'. You can choose to write any type of poem that you like about Spring, for example: a limerick, shape poem, rhyming poem, acrostic poem, free verse poem. Please complete this in your lined exercise book.
  • Read the next chapters of Wonder (First-day jitters - Choose kind) Please then complete the comprehension questions from your pack to go with these. 
  • Complete another section of either your maths revision guide or the maths work in your pack - spend 40 minutes on this and complete in your plain exercise pack.
  • Complete the two NEW My Maths activities that I have set for you today.
  • Complete the two NEW SPAG.com activities that I have set for you today - check that you have completed any outstanding work. 

Yesterday I added a link to PE with Joe Wicks, click on the image if you would like to complete an exercise programme form 9-9.30 this morning.

I also added a link, where you can listen to books by David Walliams! Again click the image and you can listen online to a new story every day:)

SPAG.com Update

Dear Year 6,

Please log on to your SPAG.com account and check to see if you have any extra tests to complete. I have reset tests for some children. Please also ensure that you are completing your My Maths and SPAG.com activitites on a daily basis, I can see online who are doing them and who are not. Hope you are all having a good day and I will talk to you all tomorrow!

 Dear my wonderful Year 6,

I hope you are all well and that you had a good day yesterday! Please make sure you are helping out at home and listening carefully.

Today can you please complete:

  • The second writing activity in your pack - 'The House in the Rainforest'. Write sentences about the picture using the active and passive voice.
  • Read the next chapters of Wonder (Nice Mrs. Garcia - The Performance Space) and complete the comprehension questions to go with it, these are in your pack.
  • Complete a section of your maths revision guide - spend around 40 mins on this and complete in your plain exercise book.
  • I have set two new My Maths activitites, they are: percentages of amounts and nets of 3D shapes. Remember I can see if these have been completed online so please make sure you have a go.
  • I have set two new SPAG.com activitites, they are: expanded noun phrases and parenthesis with commas. Again make sure you are completing these, it is very important to keep up your learning. 
  • Year 6, if you find yourself with nothing to do, read a book, play a game, draw or make something and have fun.

Today can you please complete:

  • The first writing activity in your pack - 'Left Behind'. Write a paragraph to continue the story and remember to inlcude the skills from your slow write.
  • Read the first chapters of Wonder (Ordinary - Paging Mr. Tushman) and complete the reading comprehension questions to go with it - these are in your pack. 
  • Complete either a section of your maths revision guide or the part of the maths work from your pack - spend about 40 minutes on this and complete in the plain exercise book. 
  • There are two new My Maths activities for you to complete today, if there are any other My Maths activities that you have not yet finished, please also do these.
  • There are two SPAG.com activitites for you to complete today, again please complete any activities which you have not finished.  

Have a good day year 6 and as I say to you all everyday - be safe, go careful and look after yourselves.
