I just wanted to write you a little message to say hi! I hope that all of your projects are coming along and I'm looking forward to hearing about them. Remember you can send messages and pictures to the school using Showbie or email them to homeschool@st-johnvianney.haringey.sch.uk
I wonder who worked out the answer to the riddle from last week? If you were unsure then the answer is: the letter 'v'
This week's riddle is: Which is heavier, a pound of feathers or a pound of rocks? I will give you the answer next Monday when I will also set you work as normal. Until then my little munchkins, stay safe, go careful and look after yourselves.
I will message you all bright and early on Monday morning.

Easter Holiday Update
Good morning my wonderful Year 6,
I hope that you all had a good weekend :)
I wonder if you were able to figure out the answer to the riddle from Friday? I'm sure some of you did but if you were not sure then the answer is: The horse's name was Friday!
Anyway my lovelies, over the Easter holidays your task is to carry out research about the Mayans and create a project of your choice (see Friday's post for more details and see attachments below for ideas).
I have also uploaded two Roald Dahl books for you to read over the holidays if you choose to - they are Matilda and Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator. Remember you can also follow the audio book link below to listen to some different books.
As it is the Easter holidays, I am not expecting you to check the website every morning so I will not write a daily post. I will however write again to you next Monday to say hi and then I will write a message to you all on Monday 20th April and will set you work as normal.
I will leave you with a riddle though and I will give you the answer next Monday - It's at the centre of gravity and you can find it in Venus, but not Mars. What is it?
Stay safe, go careful and look after yourselves munchkins and I will message you all again bright and early next Monday.
Miss you all!
Miss. Burry :)
Friday 3rd April 2020
Happy Friyay my wonderful Year 6,
I hope that you are all ok and that you have had a good week :)
I have recorded a little message for you all under the picture (in case you have forgotten what I sound like) click on to have a little listen.
Today can you please complete:
Try to complete as much of the work as you can munchkins and just try your best - you are all amazing!
The answers for the word association from yesterday are: 1. cheese 2. sun 3. ice 4. butter.
Today's riddle is: A cowboy rode into town on Friday. He stayed in town for three days and rode back out on Friday. How is this possible?
I'll give you the answer on Monday! :)
Easter Holidays
Over the next 2 weeks my lovelies, I am not going to set you daily work. Instead I would like you to carry out some research and complete a project. Our next topic was meant to be all about the Mayans, so I would like you to find out some information about them and think of a way that you would like to present what you have found out. Now, this could be in the form of a poster, a drawing/painting, a fact file, a model, a mask or a power point. You could even create your own message using Mayan hieroglyphs or use lego to build a model of Chichen Itza (not Chicken Itza, I know that is what some of you will be thinking) :-)
PLEASE DO NOT go out to buy any resources for this, only use what is spare in your home (with your parent's permission).
I have attached lots of ideas below and some information for you to look at - remember to also do some of your own research. Mr. McNicholas has sent your parents a link to 'Showbie'. You can share pictures on here of what you have been doing and write a message. Alternatively, you can send an email to homeschool@st-johnvianney.haringey.sch.uk It would be great to hear from you!
I have also attached ideas for other things that you can do, if you choose to. There is a video on how to make a walking horse out of paper! Have a look, it's pretty awesome. There is also a link to Scratch so you can create your own projects online.
If you find yourself looking for something to do, remember to have a look at the audio book link that I put on yesterday. There are lots of great books for you to listen to on there.
…. and if you are really looking for other things to do, then you have your maths and SPAG revision guides :)
Take this time to have a break munchkins and enjoy time with your families. I will still write you a daily message (probably with a joke or a riddle attached) so we will have some contact over the holiday.
As I say to you everyday, stay safe, go careful and look after yourselves. I will write to you all bright and early on Monday morning.
Take care munchkins, miss you all!
Miss Burry :)
